Caregiving Stories
Daniel took on two caring roles at 19 years old. He's been a full-time family caregiver for almost two decades.
Daniel is delighted to be writing for Life Effects. He hopes his work will help new and seasoned caregivers - particularly those who've managed similar responsibilities from a young age.
At just 19, Daniel took on full-time caregiving roles for his mother, who’d been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and his younger brother. Almost two decades later, Daniel still provides round-the-clock care for his brother, who lives with autism.
"There have been bumps along the way," he says, "but the experience has shaped and strengthened our relationship."
